My dad was a joiner by trade but he would tackle pretty much anything and everything. From being a toddler, I helped him and I learned. I progressed from passing him tools to doing. I remodelled my bedroom as a teenager, bought a Victorian terrace in my 20s and tackled most jobs on it and the five houses since. I also did work for friends and family. However my day job was being an accountant and I did this for 20+ years.
I got bored of being an accountant and not being able to work with my hands and use the skills and knowledge I had acquired. I started a handyman and home improvement business. I did that for 7 years then went back to being employed (in IT this time). I came back to being a handyman in 2024. It's where my heart is and my skills are.
Me and my customers
My customers are at the heart of what I do.
My customers don't get the "sharp intake of breath", they don't get taken for a ride, they don't get pressured.
My customers trust me to provide them with an honest appraisal of their job, offering ideas and options with their needs and budget in mind.
My customers trust me to work in their home in a respectful way, keeping it clean, safe and secure.
Why I am good at what I do
I am multi-skilled to a high standard
I like a challenge.
I see potential where other people see problems.
I don't let convention restrict me if there isn't a conventional solution.
My solutions are appropriate, fit for purpose, aesthetically pleasing and cost effective.
I think, I plan and I research.
Feedback is important to me. As a new business I feel it is also important to potential customers. I will add customer feedback as it is received. You can check out feedback received so far or if you are an existing customer I would really appreciate it if you could leave me some feedback. Here are the links:

I am happy to repair rather than replace, reuse materials, recycle, source second hand etc. Whatever it takes to complete your job to your preferences.
I am based in south Sheffield (the one in Yorkshire, England) but I don't mind travelling. For example a lot of my work is in the Peak District. As long as you don't mind paying my travel time, I will travel.
Fun fact: I was once asked if I would do some work in Jamaica, all expenses paid. If only the timing had been better!
