New York - London - Paris
(but mainly the Sheffield area*)
Hello!
I'm Mark, the handyman you never thought you'd find!
You'll get a quality job, honest appraisals, cost effective solutions and service with a smile
I will only ever tackle a job that I am confident I can do well
Reliable & Trustworthy ~ Quality workmanship ~ Customer Service
I will take on big jobs, small jobs or a mix of different types of job.
Below is a list of the types of things I will do, as well as a list of things I don't do. If what you want is not on either list then don't be afraid to ask.
For your peace of mind, I am fully insured
Smaller everyday jobs:
Joinery and woodwork - skirtings, architraves, shelves, bespoke furniture, laminate flooring, doors, gates etc
General property maintenance - plumbing, tiling, repairs, decorating, fitting locks etc
Assembly - flat pack furniture, sheds, anything else that needs putting together
Installation - TV and AV, appliances, security cameras, Wi-Fi etc
Lofts - insulation, boarding out, loft ladders etc
Fixing stuff - if it's broken don't assume it's not fixable
Bigger jobs:
Kitchens and Bathrooms - from planning to installation plus repairs and modifications
Bedrooms and Home Offices - Either fitting of supplied furniture or design and build from scratch
Creating outdoor spaces - decking, bespoke sheds and outbuildings, pergolas, flower beds, gates and fences
Property renovation - simplify your life by not needing to coordinate as many different trades.
Unusual jobs :
Getting organised - emptying / sorting / tidying garages, sheds and lofts including storage, sorting and organising
Emptying a property - dealing with contents due to bereavement or a move to a care home etc
Getting ready to sell - simple improvements to your property to increase it's value or make it more appealing
Unconventional solutions - if the conventional won't work let's get creative
Holiday homes / lets - if you have lots of jobs need doing in a short space of time and coordinating multiple trades is too complicated (I'm happy to travel if accommodation is provided)
I love a challenge - if you have something unusual that needs sorting or a problem that you don't know how to tackle - give me a try.
Work at heights greater than a step ladder (I get a bit wobbly any higher than this)
Labouring, digging, prolonged heavy lifting (history of back trouble)
Heat work i.e. plumbing using a blow torch (not insured)
Certifiable electrical work (not qualified)
Gas work (not qualified)
Plastering (it's a dark art)
Site work (not certified)
Building work / planning applications / building control (not my forte)
For work enquiries send me an email, WhatsApp message or Text with a rough idea of what you need and I'll get back to you.
For larger jobs I will make an appointment to come to see you then I'll prepare an estimate for you.
For smaller jobs I work on an hourly basis and I will arrange a time to come and complete the work.

My dad was a joiner by trade but he would tackle pretty much anything and everything. From being a toddler, I helped him and I learned. I progressed from just passing him tools to the actual doing. I remodelled my bedroom as a teenager, then bought a Victorian terrace in my 20s and tackled most jobs on that and the five houses since. I also did work for friends and family.
However, for my day job I spent 30+ years as an accountant and IT professional. It wasn't where my heart is and I felt I needed to put the practical skills and knowledge I had acquired to good use. I now have 10+ years experience as a handyman, kitchen and bathroom fitter and home improvement specialist.
Me and my customers
My customers are at the heart of what I do.
My customers don't get the "sharp intake of breath", they don't get taken for a ride, they don't get pressured.
My customers trust me to provide them with an honest appraisal of their job, offering ideas and options with their needs and budget in mind.
My customers trust me to work in their home in a respectful way, keeping it clean, safe and secure.
Why I am good at what I do
I am multi-skilled to a high standard
I like a challenge.
I see potential where other people see problems.
I don't let convention restrict me if there isn't a conventional solution.
My solutions are appropriate, fit for purpose, aesthetically pleasing and cost effective.
I think, I plan and I research.
Feedback is important to me. As a new business I feel it is also important to potential customers. I will add customer feedback as it is received. You can check out feedback received so far or if you are an existing customer I would really appreciate it if you could leave me some feedback. Here are the links:

I am happy to repair rather than replace, reuse materials, recycle, source second hand etc. Whatever it takes to complete your job to your preferences.
I am based in south Sheffield (the one in Yorkshire, England) but I don't mind travelling. For example a lot of my work is in the Peak District. As long as you don't mind paying my travel time, I will travel.
Fun fact: I was once asked if I would do some work in Jamaica, all expenses paid. If only the timing had been better!
